It's really hard to get support when you don't know what is out there. We want to make this easier. Below we've collated some incredible organisations who provide a wide range of support.
WIDE SCOPE SUPPORT ACROSS THE ROHE
Ngā Kākano FoundationNgā Kākano Foundation provides a range of health and social services to whānau in the Te Puke community with the goal to break down the barriers to accessing healthcare for everyone in their community.
St Vincent De PaulSt Vincent De Paul is a non-profit organisation whose work primarily involves person-to-person contact. They try to promote self-sufficiency, enabling people to help themselves.
Te Rūnanga o Ngati PikiaoTe Rūnanga o Ngati Pikiao provide a wide range of mainly free services to Ngāti Pikiao, Iwi Māori, and non-Māori. These services include social services, navigation support, injury prevention services, education services, GP healthcare, kaupapa Māori counselling, Kia Piki Te Ora suicide prevention services, Whānau Ora Paearahi services.
FOOD SUPPORT ACROSS THE ROHE
Good NeighbourGood Neighbour provide practical opportunities for people to connect with and support one another so that lives, neighbourhoods and communities are transformed. A primary focus of theirs is a food rescue service which redistributes food good enough to eat but not good enough to sell.
BellyfulBellyful make and deliver free homecooked meals for families with babies or young children. Their focus is around providing emotional support for these new māmā, as opposed to a financial support being required.
ELDERLY SUPPORT ACROSS THE ROHE
Age ConcernAge Concern are a national charity focussed on the needs of those over the age of 65, their friends, and their families. They provide expert knowledge and support services for older people's needs.
Kawerau and Districts Aging in Place (KADAP)KADAP provide home maintenance for seniors who are no longer able to carry out the general upkeep jobs around their home. KADAP provides a filling the gaps service while working alongside health and social services, trades-people, agencies and community organisations.
DISABILITY SUPPORT ACROSS THE ROHE
Support NetSupport Net provide services to help disability-related needs, to help people live independent lives in the Bay of Plenty.
Needs Assessment Service Coordination (NASC)Every person who wishes to receive disability support services funded by TWO must be needs assessed by the NASC. This Assessment can help get a person health and disability support services that help them to maintain their independence at home, or access to residential care.
HEALTH SUPPORT ACROSS THE ROHE
Health Improvement Practitioners (HIP)HIPs are experienced mental health clinicians who work with people of all ages and their families. They help people with any issues impacting on their health and wellbeing and can be accessed through your local GP clinic.
